Well...it's another day in Saudi Arabia. And, yes, it's hot. I've been in the house a lot lately, and it's bugging the sh*t out of me. When I was in Stockholm, I walked miles, all day, almost every day. I loved it!! I guess I could get out in the evening, but I don't like walking once it's dark, even with the street lights. Okay. I'll admit it, I'm afraid of night time critters. A few nights back we were out walking, it's like 8:00p.m. and I see these big a** moths flying around every other street light. They're flying all low and scaring the mess out of me. Roland is laughing at me as I'm cringing each time we walk past a light that has one flying around it. And, don't let there be two or three flying around. It's pretty pathetic really. But, hey, I'm not used to critters. It took me over a year to get over the Gecko's. I could go in the mornings, but, I typically don't get up until about 10:00a.m. By the time I get up, wake up, and get get it together, it's too dang hot to be outside. IDK...I think I'm making excuses. LOL
So...anyway...what else has been going on?
I'm planning my next vacation. I've been doing so much research it's bordering on city "stalking". It's going to be wonderful. Three days in Amsterdam, two days in Brugge, one day in Brussels, and 14 days in Stockholm. Amsterdam is gonna be freakin' awesome. I have us taking bike tours, going out into the countryside, I've located an organic pastry shop that's suppose to be the sh*t, a vintage clothing shop I've read about that I'm hoping to find a fabulous dress at, and there's a performing arts festival happening while we're there. So, I have high expectations for fun. I hope I'm not disappointed.
What else?
Still taking the photography and writing courses. I have 3 more weeks on this writing course, and I swear I'll be glad when it's done. I'll have a little break before I pick up the next one in the fall.
Oh Yea...I have something I'm thinking about doing. Ramadan is coming up in a few weeks. I'm thinking I'm gonna try and go a whole day, from sun up to sun set without eating. Maybe video tape my lapse into hunger and irritation? That could be interesting. Some people may think, "wow. a day without eating." But, I think it's hard. IDK. I'm gonna let that idea marinate.
Anyway...until next time.
Peace!

It is hard. I passed out at IHOP once doing that. :/
(fasting).
I think it's gonna be hard. But, unlike you, I'm not trying to leave the house. LOL My plan is to lay around, and when I'm really really hungry, video tape it. LOL. I did this when I 1st got to Saudi. I have video of me crying on the couch, angry, about how much I hated being here. I've never watched it, but that's the good stuff. That's going to make great footage later. So, with this I envision that I'm gonna be hungry, grouchy, and I might not even make it past 4pm. I gotta check the sunrise/sunset schedules. That could make for good stuff. And besides, I'm only gonna do it a day. There is no way I would screw up my system by doing it for the entire month of Ramadan.
Good luck! I usually am ok for days 1-2, get VERY thirsty for the next 5 days or so and then my body is used to the schedule and it's ok. Make sure though if you are doing this that you eat properly at night!
We always break fast with a glass of water and the traditional thing is dates at first, but I usually just have soup. It's good to eat a light meal at breakfast and then about 1-2 hours later, have your larger meal. We then eat leftovers in another 2-3 hours or so (we go to bed late). I usually gain weight during Ramadan... ;)
@Little P...yea...I believe you probably do gain weight during Ramadan. Eating too much, way too late in the evening time will do it. There's is not way I would even attempt to do it for the entire month. For me, there's no point. I'm gonna try it for one day,as they say, "for sh*ts and giggles." Okay...maybe I won't be giggling when I'm ready to kill someone at around 3:00p.m. because I'm so freakin' hungry.
That really WOULD be interesting. I think you should do it. :)
@Diana...why do I suspect you want to see me make a comic spectacle of myself? LOL
Haha! Well, I do have a hidden motive.
My friends and I have a Jeddah podcast. I just thought it would be nice to have you on the show. Here's our link:

and if you would honor us, we could talk about your Ramadan experiment! XD
@Diana...I'm gonna have to give that some thought. If I think it turns out good enough to put out there, then you are free to share it, I guess. IDK
Just saw this and thought of you!

Have fun! :)
Hmmm, of course I just started cold turkey... it's kinda' like those people that recommend eating BEFORE sunrise- that would kill me. (1. I like my sleep 2. it gets your digestive system going and makes me more hungry/thirsty)
Anyways...
@Lil P...thanks for the info. Yea...I was thinking of getting up an eating really early. But, I'm not a morning person at all. I really don't even wanna wake up before 9:00a.m. LOL. You make a good point that I'm going to have to give some thought, that getting up and eating just makes you hungrier later on. I think there may be some truth to that. We'll see soon how I do.
